Inspiration.

Inspiration can come from anywhere, in any form. That's why it's a beautiful thing.

I've always felt like one of the most best parts of life is being able to draw energy from my surroundings. Even when situations aren't so great, there are always things to be noticed and learned from.

One of my favorite ways to focus on the best parts of the ups AND downs of life is by drawing inspiration from tnem. Ever since I can remember, creativity has been a natural facet of my personality -- the inspiration I get from day-to-day life is put into songs, sketches, photography and, most recently, blog posts. Inspiration feeds itself into everything I do.

But where/when/how do I find said inspiration?

  • In the way that campus still has leaves everywhere on the ground even though the trees have been bare since October.
  • When my parents are watching hockey and I can hear my mom screaming "go boys!" over the music playing through my headphones.
  • In the rhytmic thumping of college dorm washing machines.
  • In how the Salem squirrels have taught themselves how to chirp like birds.
  • When I see so many talented/smart people focusing so hard on improving their skills or knowledge.
  • When I look back on my own past and remember how far I've come.
  • In looking at a huge box of paints.
The bottom line is, inspiration is absolutely everywhere. It doesn't always come in super-special bow-wrapped packages. The closer you look into the little details of life, the easier it is to find it.

Keep not settling,
