DIYs to Try.

Growing up, my mom was the "craft lady" and it was awesome. My friends and I still talk about the awesome arts and crafts parties we'd have on the living room floor, with old sheets spread out as to not worry about paint or glue stains. I guess that over the years, my mom's craftiness has rubbed off on me. Even though she channels most of her creativity into knitting, and I can't even keep my attention span that long, let alone keep good tension, we still share similar interests.

One of the things mom has always been fantastic at is finding interesting and unique DIY projects to do, no matter what the occasion. That's definitely rubbed off on me.. I love DIYing everything. Here are some projects I've had my eye on to try...

ONE | Glitter State

This is something super simple.... literally anyone could do this. AND it still looks absolutely awesome. I'm a big fan of the glitter... love love love this. Now, to get my hands on some glitter paper and a picture frame! Check out the full tutorial here

TWO | Chalkboard Mason Jars

I absolutely love mason jars. I DIY'ed a large mason jar for my bedroom about a year ago and, until I left for school, it held all of my obnoxiously-long-handled paint brushes. That has been one of my all-time favorite projects, and ever since I've been looking for more ways to beautify mason jars. This tutorial walks through how to make your own chalkboard paint jars!

THREE | Ikea Hack

It's amazing what a little bit of paint can do for a plain piece of furniture. When I was younger, mom would paint my furniture to match my room theme. At one point, she sponge-painted my desk pink and purple. Ikea hacks are really popular all over Pinterest, and I want to try one just for the nostalgic feelings.
