If Not Me, Who?

I saw a quote by Emma Watson one day while I was scrolling through my Pinterest feed and its message inspired me instantly.

It called me to action in that moment, and as trivial as it sounds, it helped me find the willpower to start Keep Not Settling. I'd been considering blogging for a while, but  never actually gave it a shot, since I was sure the internet didn't need another website. Nobody actually wanted to hear from me.

This quote gave me the motivation to put some effort into something I never knew could be so valuable. Read it for yourself!

It turns out that the quote is from Emma's speech at the UN (United Nations) for its HeForShe Campaign. She's a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador... dang. Just dang. This girl can do everything.

Check out the YouTube video of her whole speech:

I think what's most inspiring about this particular quote, though, is that it urges whoever reads it -- male or female -- to take matters into their own hands. There have been more than enough times in my own life where I've delegated something important to someone else, or shoved it aside until later. It's all to easy to let action slide under the rug, to opt for reaction instead.

Although Emma's quote in its original context is about the women's equal rights and opportunities, I think it can fit nearly anybody's unique situation. There are so many great opportunities out there, just waiting for someone to claim them. The most important thing to realize is that you can't let a little bit of self-doubt ruin your chance to find each and every one of those opportunities. Trust me, I learned that the hard way.

If not you, who? If not now, when? Just do it.

Keep not settling,
