Although I talk about the happenings in my life in passing here on the blog, I think it's time for an all-around update. There's been so much going on in the last few weeks -- and there's so much coming up -- that my head's beginning to spin.
As you probably know, last week was the first official week of Spring semester. I'm halfway through my second week and, now that things are starting to settle in, I'm really enjoying all of my classes (even math! gasp!). Once again this semester, I have amazing professors and super intelligent classmates that make going to class not only tolerable, but fun.
Even though I'm taking more classes this semester than during Fall semester, I have about double the amount of study time which, in turn, has given me the opportunity to spend more time with friends. I feel like I missed out on a little bit of that last semester, but I'm starting to find my work-play groove.
This week has been spent preparing for *drum roll* Scholarship Weekend! I mentioned in Friday's Weekly Roundup that I'd received my Fremdendienerin name tag and shirt... it's so hard to believe that it's already been a year since the first time I stepped foot on campus. Crazy. I'm so excited to be on the other side of Scholarship Weekend this year, meeting and learning about all the new potential members of the Class of 2019! I might be sleep deprived come Tuesday but who cares, really?
Lately, I've also been dealing with some not-awesome (but not "major") health issues. I haven't ever mentioned this here on Keep Not Settling, nor do I usually talk about it with anyone but my family... but it's been such a ginormous part of the last few months, and the last week, that I figured it would be worth my while. Truth be told, I'm not really sure what's going on yet; hopefully that will change soon. Whatever it is comes and goes. I have good days, and not-so-good days. But I do know that I'm not going to let it fully control how I live.
All-in-all, the last few weeks here at Salem have been absolutely fantastic and I can't wait for the rest of the semester. Even though it feels like I don't have a free moment until March, I'm truly enjoying February... plus, my birthday is in just over 2 weeks!
Until tomorrow...
Keep not settling,
